Grey's Anatomy: Heart In A Box

Hello, loyal readers! I know this recap is a few days late, my apologies! I've just returned from a five day business trip to Los Angeles (I know, oxymoron) and I can't wait to share all of my L.A. adventures with you!

This week's episode of Grey's Anatomy featured "heart in a box" which in addition to being super cool was also designed by my cousin Robby and his team at TransMedics which is based right here in Massachusetts! Way to put that Tufts University engineering degree to use, Robby! So proud of you!

This hour I loved the "Plastics Posse" of Mark and Jackson. Their pep talk at the end? Too cute! I don't blame Jackson for giving Lexi the boot. When he asked, "Can you tell me I shouldn't?" and she stood their silently - ah! My heart broke for him. At least he has his bromance.

I also loved Alfre Woodward's guest spot in this episode as the author. I adored her scenes with Lexi, working on the book, particularly in the end when it was clear Lexi was relating her personal love triangle to the one in the book. Great writing, Grey's team!

This episode George O'Malley's mom returned to Seattle Grace. Those who know me well know that I sobbed uncontrollably at the end of the episode where George died. I mean, we are talking, inconsolable. I was afraid I might lose it with her showing up, but surprisingly, I stayed calm. I had kind of forgotten that George and Callie were married. That final moment where Callie shows Mrs. O'Malley photos of Sofia was precious.

After the recent softball episode I thought Bailey and Meredith were finally going to be normal again, but no, Bailey is still mad at her. I liked her speech when she told Meredith, "you're maddening" and when she admitted George was her favorite (we all remember the episode where Bailey gave birth). It was a nice moment when Bailey advised Meredith what to wear to her court hearing.

It was also a nice moment when Alex overheard the prospective peds fellow saying that all Arizona did was brag about him all day! Yay! Finally some good news for Alex.

Lastly, I was getting really upset with Teddy when she was pushing back on Henry about wanting to go to med school, then in the very final scene of the episode where she finds him at home coughing up blood, my heart sank. Don't hurt Scott Foley!

The preview for next week's episode was very dramatic! They make it seem like Meredith and/or Alex are going to get hurt while waiting in an ambulance in a thunderstorm. I'm nervous already!
