If you read this blog regularly, you are well aware that I love frozen yogurt. Imagine my delight when a friend suggested we make a trip to Mixx on Brighton Ave in Allston. Much like Berry Freeze in Coolidge Corner (read my review here), Mixx lets you swirl your own frozen yogurt.
When you enter Mixx, you are given instructions via brightly colored chalk on a blackboard.
You grab a bowl and start swirling! Mixx has more flavors then I have seen anywhere else.
After you swirl, you move on to the toppings bar. Mixx had a great spread with lots of fresh fruits, nuts, candy and even a cereal dispenser!
After you weight your bowl and pay, you can pick a spoon from their rainbow selection. I know my eleven year old twin cousins would be thrilled by the color options.
Mixx has plenty of seating, allowing you to enjoy your treats at comfy tables as you sit on their vibrant, orange chairs.
My choices were: raspberry frozen yogurt with bananas, shredded coconut, yogurt chips and chocolate chips, all to be enjoyed with a purple spoon.
My friend chose taro frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles. I tasted the taro (having no idea what it was) and it was super delicious! On my next trip, I am loading up on that flavor!
