Fro Yo: Pinkberry

I first learned of the frozen yogurt chain Pinkberry on MTV's show "The Hills." The Los Angeles based fro yo chain eventually expanded its operation to New York City, where I frequently visited with my cousin who lived around the corner. This fall, Boston got its very own Pinkberry! Tonight I made my first trip to the Newbury Street location with a friend who had never experienced the glory that is Pinkberry.

Right when we walked in we saw this adorable sign:

We were then greeted by the most cheerful server who gave my Pinkberry virgin friend a complete run down of the yogurt (how they make it, calories per serving) as well as highlighted for her some of his favorite choices for toppings (he was really pushing the brownie bites and the mochi). He also insisted that she try both the original flavor and any other flavor she was considering. He was very thoughtful!

Tonight the flavor choices were original, chocolate, coconut, mango, blood orange and pomegranate. Check out the topping feast:

In the end, my friend ordered the pomegranate yogurt with fruity pebbles. It was a delightfully colorful choice! I ordered the coconut frozen yogurt with chocolate chips and graham crackers, my own version of a deconstructed, almond joy s'more.

We sat at a table inside to enjoy our treats and I was reminded how much I love the decor in Pinkberry. I've been countless times in Manhattan and the design of the stores is just so perky and fun.

Boston's Pinkberry is located at 288 Newbury Street. Swirly goodness awaits!
