Grey's Anatomy: 60 Minutes

It's hard to believe this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy only covered a 60 minute time period because so much happened! Where to begin?

Meredith decided to step up and help run the emergency room in hopes that her initiative would be recognized in the race for chief resident. She is juggling an intense patient load including a devastatingly handsome man who is complaining of chest pain. This man can only focus on taking his son to the basketball game, while Meredith is trying to determine his risk factors.

In the end, Meredith and Teddy wind up performing emergency surgery on this man. Did you want to cry when he started to bleed from his face? And did you wince when the doctors said in the elevator on the way to the ER, "we won't have time to scrub in," and simply used anti-bacterial on their hands before operating? I shudder at the thought. I almost burst into tears when Meredith answered the patient's phone and it was his son.

Also in the ER was the Chief's wife, Adele, who Meredith thinks may have some mental health problems in addition to her fractured wrist. What do you think? Is Adele developing Alzheimer's?

There was a third sad patient story, a four year old boy with a broken leg, left in the ER for almost a full day waiting for his cast. Alex Karev to the rescue! See, he does have a heart. Sometimes. Are we liking him and the new, blond OB/GYN?

I'll let you know which couple I am liking - Dr. Bailey and sexy nurse Eli! I love how he pushes her to let loose! I died when Derek opened the door on them in the on call room. Died.

My heart went out to Scott Foley's character, who had to watch Teddy go on a date, even though he is married to her! I think it's a little strange Teddy is going on dates when she married a dying man. Anyone else agree?

This episode Dr. Avery continued to put the moves on Lexie. I don't like the idea of the two of them together, but Lexie is aching for a rebound from Mark.

Speaking of Lexie, I couldn't believe she let that patient with the migraine leave and then he had a stroke! Yikes. I also couldn't believe his horrid girlfriend! It was fun to watch him throw her out of the hospital room. Cue Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive."

Also this hour, a very touching moment between Christina and Meredith, when Meredith asks her not to be the godmother to Callie's baby because she wants her to be the godmother to her future baby. Please let Mer and Der get pregnant again.

In previews for next week's episode it seems Meredith may be losing her vision. I am not sure what is causing this, but I can't imagine it's something mild. Oh boy. Buckle up, Grey's fans!
