Grey's Anatomy: The Shooter

Tonight Grey's Anatomy returned from its holiday hiatus with a bang. Too soon?

The doctors at Seattle Grace are forced to work through their post-traumatic stress and treat the victims of a university shooting. The team lines up outside the ER to wait for the ambulances and Lexi and Dr. Kepner start to weep. That was hard to watch.

Over the course of the hour the team successfully treats all twenty six victims. Not a single casualty. The best part of the entire episode was the final scene where the whole team is sitting in the gallery watching the last surgery of the day and they go through all the stages of grief right in that room, together.

This hour Arizona continued to plead for Callie's forgiveness. I am amazed by how unaffected Callie is by her advances.

Also this hour, Teddy marries Scott Foley's new, adorable character! As one of the girls said tonight while we were watching, "They are so going to fall in love." Yup. I hope we don't have another Denny situation on our hands.

Lexi also gave Mark the ultimate gift this week, three little words. I love that they're back together. How about a wedding for the season finale? Yes?

The "most hysterical moment" award goes to Dr. Karev for physically blocking Dr. Stark in the OR. Unfortunately we haven't seen the last of Stark, but at least now he'll be sparring with Dr. Karev and Arizona.

I almost forgot! This week we also celebrated the triumphant return of Cristina to surgery! Finally! You could see it in her eyes when those three ambulances flew by. She's back!

In previews for next week Derek and Meredith continue their quest to have a baby and Dr. Bailey's relationship with nurse Eli heats up. Yes, please!
