Tonight's episode of Gossip Girl was comprised largely of flashbacks explaining how Serena, Ben, Juliet and oddly, Damien, are all connected. Yes, that Damien. The one who used Jenny as his drug pusher. Ok, maybe she begged to be the drug pusher.
It turns out Serena had a crush on her teacher, Ben, and Damien (scorned by Serena) saw them together at a B&B and sparked a rumor about them that spread like wildfire. Then Lily took it upon herself to make this problem go away. Wow, haven't heard that before.
I have to say, I didn't see this coming. A few of my fellow fans told me after the last two episodes that they suspected Serena's relationship with Ben sent him to jail, but I wasn't convinced. In the beginning Ben seemed like an evil mastermind. Now he seems like a pathetic victim.
At the close of the episode Serena arrives at the prison to talk to Ben. I can't wait to see what happens after she reveals her mother was behind all of this. Did you like how Ben still looked at her like she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen?
I loved Blair this episode. So many great one liners. My favorite "I go to Columbia, Dan goes to NYU and Damien's in the school of life." Ha!
During this episode my boy Chuck learns he's being monster screwed by Lily, who plans to sell Bass Industries. Chuck reacts by booking a trip to New Zealand which is apparently where his creepy, disgusting uncle Jack lives. Oh yes, let's bring back the dirt bag.
