While watching TV this morning I saw a trailer for a new movie called "Love & Other Drugs" starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway. Watch the trailer here:
Gyllenhaal's character is supposed to be a pharmaceutical salesman by day and a womanizing playboy by night. During the first 30 seconds of the trailer I thought, "Jake? A player? No." However, Anne Hathaway arrived on the screen opposite him and their chemistry was unmistakable.
Their pairing is a bit ironic, given that they played husband and wife in "Brokeback Mountain" and we all know how that turned out.
As the trailer continued it became clear the movie is not about Gyllenhaal's character as a philanderer (which is good, since it wasn't believable), but in fact about how he changes as a man when he meets Hathaway. Their romance seems fun and flawed (the best kind).
"Love & Other Drugs" opens Wednesday, November 24th. I'll definitely be making a trip to see this during my Thanksgiving break.
