Grey's Anatomy: Sensitivity Training

This week's Grey's Anatomy stirred up quite a bit of emotion in the doctors of Seattle Grace. Let's begin with Alex Karev who delivers a fantastic monologue to a morbidly obese patient urging him to sign off on a necessary surgery. Normally Alex's character is being such an ass we don't remember what a great actor Justin Chambers is. I was thrilled he got a true, gritty story line this week.

Cristina finds herself taking care of a nine year old girl whose mother goes into surgery after a heart attack. Cristina, notoriously cold hearted, bonds with this little girl drawing on her own experience of losing her father. I always enjoy when we get to see the emotional side of Cristina. She winds up breaking down and sobbing to Owen, which I hope strengthens their bond. I am still nervous about his feelings for Teddy (and the previews for next week suggest I should be).

This week Derek the D-bag Chief continues to rear his ugly head as he sits through a lengthy deposition for a wrongful death law suit. He is shepherded through the process by a young, beautiful attorney named Lauren. I have to say, I liked her! I wish there was a way she could be worked into the show.

Also this hour Callie gets hit on by a young, flirtatious patient. Callie enjoys the attention and never mentions that she is in a committed relationship. When she arrives home to Arizona planning their trip to Fiji she confesses the flirtation which leads to a conversation about babies (again) and ultimately a decision to break up. I wonder if this patient will have a reoccurring role or if she was simply the catalyst to end this relationship?

In the previews for next week Sloan, Teddy and the annoying pixie cut Mercy West resident seem to have a threesome (or at least they edited it to imply that) and Bailey catches her anesthesiologist flame flirting with nurses! So much for love the one you're with.

Thrilled its nothing but new episodes until the finale! Leave your thoughts and predictions below!
