Gossip Girl: Hudson River Hero

This week on Gossip Girl the crew prepared for election day. Nate's cousin Tripp was running for Congress, and just in time for the city to hit the polls, he rescues a man from drowning in the Hudson river. How convenient!

Vanessa, who was taping the whole thing for her documentary on Tripp's campaign, discovers that the man in the river jumped in! Come on, GG, that was a very predictable plot line. That is until you revealed Tripp's wife orchestrated the set up! I would love to see her become a more prominent, devious character! Don't you love politics?

Nate tests his bond of friendship with Vanessa by tricking her out of submitting her video footage. Nate has now alienated Vanessa and Serena. Meanwhile, Serena has alienated Blair as well. To cope, Blair makes a new friend who shares her love of high fashion, only to learn she's a prostitute! You could tell B wanted to take a shower upon hearing this fact.

Chuck steps in and talks to Serena, trying to mend her conflict with Blair. Chuck Bass, a good boyfriend? What? His speech to Serena was actually quite touching.

In the end S & B don't make up, but Serena does quit her pathetic job, thank the lord. I wish Dan would quit Olivia (played by Hillary Duff). She annoys me to no end! The bathroom boy story line was lame, and who celebrates a one month anniversary? What are we, in middle school?

The best moment of the entire episode was the final scene with Chuck and Blair spooning. My heart melted into a big, Chuck Bass loving, puddle!

This week's episode also featured fantastic fashion. Bravo, GG stylists!

Previews for next week imply Serena and Tripp are forming a bond, and three of our Upper East siders are getting down and dirty, TOGETHER. That's right, a GG threesome! Any guesses on who comprises the trio?
