GLEE: Please Take a Bow

I must applaud the marketing geniuses at FOX for keeping us interested and anxious for the premiere of GLEE all summer long by airing the pilot back in May. FOX hooked us with the Glee club's rendition of "Don't Stop Believin" and its zany cast of characters who skillfully walk the line between awkward and adorable.

During last week's premiere episode the Glee club takes on a new number, Kanye West's "Gold Digger" and performs Salt-N-Peppa's "Push It" at the school assembly. I was particularly tickled by the hilarious choreography of "Push It", specifically with the Glee club member in a wheelchair. So wrong, yet so right.

Aside from swooning over Glee club adviser Will, the highlight of the episode was the closing number, where Rachel sings Rihanna's "Take a Bow" while the camera slices between shots of her performing on stage, singing alone in her bedroom, and watching Finn flirting with his cheerleader girlfriend. Hello, I'm misting.

With just two episodes under its belt, GLEE has me looking forward to each new installment and keeps me wondering with delightful anticipation what songs they will cover next.

Miss last week's premiere? Catch up on all the musical numbers at Gawker.com.

GLEE airs at 9:00pm Eastern time on FOX. Get down girl, go 'head get down.
